The Bowen family

January 2, 2013

Recently I got to photograph the always delightful Bowen family. First let me just say that photographing another photographer’s family can be slightly nerve racking. Lori Bowen just happens to be my wedding sidekick and a brilliant photographer. Knowing that she knows the “tricks of the trade,” (well tricks might be the wrong term, but you get what I mean) means that I might be a little nervous about her seeing the work that I’ve done.  We decided to just do a quick shoot out at my house and of course hang out and eat some chili. I couldn’t ask for a better ending to a photo shoot. I think I am going to start asking that people bring me food, okay maybe not but it was a lot of fun. Lori Bowen makes some mean chili. By mean, I mean delicious!! Let me tell you a little about this family. They are first of all brilliant, yes all of them! Lori genuinely loves people and certainly has an artist’s eye and Quinn (her husband) is super nice and super smart. Together and separately they are both quite a joy to be around.  Austin, the oldest (well kinda), of the three builds robots—yes you read that correctly—he’s pretty much a genius and a fabulous musician. Madison is quite smart herself and loves to cook. She just lights up a room when she’s around and that room becomes especially brighter when her boyfriend (a Marine) Nathan is around. I think her smile is ten times bigger when he’s visiting. Then there’s “littlest”, as Lori sometimes refers to her. Rebecca is her name and boy is she a smart one. She loves being creative, just like her mama, and has the best little personality. All three kids are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet, well the whole family is pretty darn sweet! Their friendship means the world to Josh and I and we don’t know what we would do without them in our lives.
