Many of you know—because I couldn’t stop raving about it on social media—that I had the absolute pleasure of traveling to San Francisco a little over a week ago to photograph two of the coolest people I know. It all started with an email I thought was bad news.  The wonderful Jade had already booked me for her Charleston wedding but sent me an email saying that she was going to have to move to California to be with her fiance. I thought to myself, oh no she’s going to have to cancel her wedding and get married there. Silly thought considering she’s from Charleston—why would she do that? Sometimes I jump to worse case scenario cause it either lessens the bad news or makes the good news that much more awesome. In this case it was 100% the latter. So I’m reading her email expecting something crazy when she says “would you be open or able to do our portrait sessions in California?” and I about fell out of my chair. I had a wait, let me read that again moment. She’s for real. She wants me to come to California. Total bucket list item here….and the answers is ABSOLUTELY!! So fast forward to this month and we flew to the west coast (never done that before), stayed in a spectacular Airbnb (first time for that too) at the top of Twin Peaks with views of the city that I think only show up in dreams, and putting it mildly really had the time of our lives!! More on the trip in general in a later blog post. Matt and Jade were fabulous to photograph—so in love and not afraid to show it—and with backdrops like the Palace of Fine Arts, the Golden Gate bridge, and China town for their engagement photos, how could we go wrong? I got to see so much of the city just traveling around with them looking for places to use for photos. There are not many words to describe the amount of awesome in this trip. These two know how to work a camera which made my job pretty easy. I am forever grateful for them flying me in to do their San Francisco engagement photos. It’s a trip I’ll never forget!
Take a look!
I love it when a couple doesn’t mind just dancing in public cause I had a crazy idea. 🙂
This happened a lot so I had to throw it in there. I love outtakes. We Ubered everywhere so this was necessary.
We ended the day at a pub/brewery…of course! #takemeback
