An Elegant Savannah Wedding at Madison Square | Savannah Wedding Photographer

June 3, 2015

Today I have a lovely Savannah wedding for you! When I first got an email from Dawn telling me her plans for getting married in Savannah I almost jumped for joy right out of my chair. I love Savannah! In 2003 I attended Savannah College of Art and Design. It was a short time that I was there pursuing a master’s degree, but a fantastic time that etched a little bit of love on my heart for the Charleston-esque city. When I found out that the ceremony would be in Madison Square, I had a pretty good idea where that was. Savannah is full of these “squares” that are just little mini parks and they’re prefect for Savannah weddings. On the day of their wedding I got to Savannah early because I wanted to scope out the square and wander around my old stomping grounds a bit. I stopped by my favorite coffee shop and walked around the block to take a look at the apartments I used to live in. Dawn and John’s reception was held at the old Savannah Station—a place I was not too familiar with. After my short trip around the old block I headed to Savannah Station to scope it out as well. What a fantastic event space! It’s a magnificent building built in 1902. Wood beamed ceilings with beautiful glass chandeliers give it a slightly rustic vibe, but classy as well. The main entrance room gives you the feeling like you are stepping into the 1920’s. I can’t even describe it, you’ll just have to see the photos below.  The bridesmaid’s all wore long flowing gowns—some adorned with sequins (yes!)—that really tied in with the look of Savannah Station. Their dresses were all unique and gorgeous. Dawn wore a classic and stunning gown that paired well with John’s blue suit. They just fit right into the scenery at Madison Square, which is probably why I had so much fun photographing them there. It was a beautiful day and a fantastic celebration! Take a look!
