A Red and Black Halloween Wedding at Pepper Plantation

January 24, 2018

A Halloween Wedding in Charleston

My favorite holiday is Halloween!! When Cassandra came to me about photographing her Halloween themed wedding in Charleston I jumped at the opportunity! This Halloween wedding did not disappoint. Cassandra and Drew met while both of them were performing at a show. She’s a hula hoop entertainer using fire and he is in a band. The moment she set eyes on him she knew he was the one she was going to marry…and she was right.

An Emotional Moment

There was no shortage of emotion and fun at this wedding. One of the more touching things of the day was the ring “bear” that was in attendance. It may have just been the sweetest addition to this Halloween wedding. Sadly, Cassandra’s grandmother passed away before she could see her granddaughter get married. She gave Cassandra a bear and told her that where ever that bear was that she was there too. So, naturally, the bear had to be in the wedding party carrying the rings. We visited Cassandra’s grandmother’s grave before arriving at the venue. Cassandra took a flower from her bouquet and placed it on her grandmothers grave. That was such a special moment to both witness and capture. To say I was fighting back tears is an understatement. That was a moment I’ll never forget.

Red and Black and hints of Fall

This Halloween themed wedding was complete with a bridal party appropriately decked out in black and red. Cassandra wore a beautifully fitted lace dress and gorgeous red high heels with a touch of gold on them. She looked absolutely stunning. Drew looked super stylish in his all-black attire and red tie.  The two said their “I do’s” out on the beautiful lawn at Pepper Plantation. The reception was decorated with lots of fun fall and Halloween decor. Sweet Lulu’s was there with their super cute vintage camper serving up adorable cupcakes in a jar. Speaking of cake, they had the cutest little wedding cake that was embellished with tiny bats and the cake topper may have been my most favorite thing. I’m a pretty huge fan of Frankenstein’s monster and his bride and they made for an adorable cake topper. Oh, and let’s not forget the table full of candy because it wouldn’t be a Halloween wedding without candy!  This was definitely a wedding I’ll remember for a very long time. Bring on more Halloween weddings, please!
